Q: I have recently upgraded from dBASE III to Visual dBASE 5.7, and have been trying to convert my old programs. It has taken much effort to get the printing to work but I am still having some problems. One of my programs seems to be printing all the students on the same piece of paper. It also spools for a very long time. Does anyone have an answer to this?
A: First, you have to use SET PRINTER TO or CLOSE PRINTER to stop the spooling. Second, you need to use EJECT to force to a new page.
If you are using @..SAY statements to print your data, you should consider using ? and ??
instead. The ? and ?? commands are called "streaming" output.
