Q: I have run some corrupted Visual dBASE programs from a people. After that, all ToolTips in the Visual dBASE 7 development environment becomes some strange words. For example, the tooltip of "Open" in the Open button of theToolBar became some unrecognised characters. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the Visual dBASE 7 again but I still cannot recover the damage. Can anyone help me to solve my problem?
A: This is due to an incompatibility between Internet Explorer 5 and dBASE 7.0x on Win95 and Win98 machines. While this has been fixed in the Visual dBASE 7.5 release, the only workarounds in earlier 7.0x version are un-installing IE5 and going back to IE4, or upgrading to Windows NT.
