Long File Names Not Recognized on Windows NT (5.x only)

Q: I am using Visual dBASE 5.6 on a Windows NT system, but I cannot make use of long file names on this system.  Why?

A: Visual dBASE 5.x supports Windows 95 and Windows 98 long file names, but not Windows NT long file names.  Visual dBASE 7.x supports both types.
