The Editor component displays the contents of a text file or memo field. Text exceeding the size of the box causes a scrollbar to appear. You can allow users to edit this text or not by setting its readOnly property.
Link the Editor component to a character or memo field in a table so that users can display and change field data when they run the form. You can also link an Editor control to an external text file to display and change its contents.
To link an Editor control to data:
Click the wrench tool beside the dataLink property.
In the DataLink Property Builder, select Field from the Type list, or for a text file, select File from the Type list.
Click the Tool button in the DataLink box.
Select a field or file, and click OK.
The name of the field or file appears in the dataLink property text box, and the linked data appears in the Editor control.
