The Report wizard helps you design and create a report. It presents you with a series of data and design options and creates a report based on your selections. Once created, you can modify the report with the Report designer.

Wizard

Choose Wizard to have the Report wizard help you create a report to your specifications. The report can be based on only one table or one query file joining multiple tables. The Report wizard lets you choose:

Groups

Aggregate operations

Sort order

Whether to create a report where summary information appears first as a hypertext link, and a user clicking on that link is taken to the detail information in that category.

Later you can make changes to the report in the Report designer.

Designer

Choose Designer to build a report yourself, from scratch, by using the Report designer. To create master-detail reports, you'll need to use the Report designer.

Want to bypass this dialog box? To go straight to the Report designer (skipping the Report wizard) every time you want to design a report, choose Properties|Desktop Properties, and on the Application page, uncheck Report in the Prompt For Wizards panel.
