The Users page displays current authorized user profiles with their associated group (department) entries. Click the New or Modify buttons to display dialog boxes that let you authorize new users, set their group and access level, or edit user access information, or deauthorize users.

Dialog box options

 

New

Displays the New User dialog box where you can authorize new users, giving them a user name, password, and access level.

Modify

Displays the Edit User dialog box where you can edit the user information for the user name currently selected on the Users page.

Delete

Deletes the currently selected user name from the list of authorized users. The deleted user will no longer be able to open the current database.

WARNING: Do not delete all users from a group before you decrypt all the tables associated with the group—if you do this, no one can access the tables.

How to get there: Choose File|Database Administration. Click Security. Enter the administrator password. In the Security dialog box, click the Users tab.
